Last weekend, we flew to Wisconsin to meet Keaton, the first child of our good friends, Kate and Collin. It was his baptism weekend, so we were able to be there and offer a helping hand for those festivities as well. Drew and I were both more than smitten with little Keaton. He is an absolute doll, and we both eagerly held him often over the few days that Kate and Collin put up with us us up.
Kate and Collin are already wonderful, caring, and doting parents to Keaton. It was so fun to watch them with him, and to see him respond to his Mommy and Daddy. Even at only eight weeks old, the little peanut certainly knows the difference and responds preciously when he hears their voices, sees their faces, or feels their touch. It brought me to near-tears several times to witness these two, who so desperately wanted a child, interacting with their perfectly sweet little one.
Here are a few pictures of this weekend (mostly from the baptism). I wanted to take more pictures around the house of all of us (including Amanda, who we also enjoyed seeing...hi, Amanda!) with the baby, but wouldn't you know it? My camera battery was dead almost immediately after I took my first picture. Luckily, before the baptism on Sunday, Kate and I figured out we basically have the exact same Canon point-and-shoot, so I was able to use her battery charger. (Phew!)
Thank you for letting us come meet our pseudo-nephew, you guys. We enjoyed every minute of it, and we can't wait until we get to see all of you again! We miss you!

It was great seeing you two also! It has been way too long! Hope your trip home was uneventful (and you got a picture of the "Gifts and Cheese" sign.) Take care, and I'm still praying!

Thanks for sharing the pictures for those of us who couldn't make it. I'm glad I can get a small glimpse into their lives. What a blessing he is. I'm praying for all mentioned in this post.

Thanks for posting pics, Em! I have to say the one with the bea-U-tiful afghan as a backdrop is my fave...someone sure does some fancy stitchin'! Some day she'll do another one of those but now her short attention span can barely handle dishcloths! I also couldn't believe how big that sweater was - and the gown, oh, it's gorgeous!
I'm glad to hear you're both home safe and sound, I was wondering about your return with all the snow we had over the weekend. Anyway - I'm glad you had a great time. I'm glad you finally got to meet your new 'nephew'! Re: Keaton's Baptism

Em and Drew, Justin and I really enjoyed seeing you both! Kate is really blessed to have you both as friends. Glad you got home safe!
Re: Keaton's Baptism
Thank you guys so much for making the trip over last weekend. You have no idea how much it meant to us. Also, I'm not sure how we could have gotten it all together without all of your guys' help. We appreiciate all you do for us!! Kira is so right, we are so, so blessed :)
I'm going to have to get a copy of your pictures if you don't mind. I don't think I have one of just Keaton and the gown. In hindsight I should have tried to get a few more before mass when I was thinking a little straighter. Once we started taking pictures after mass a certain someone woke up and wanted to know WHERE THE HELL IS MY FOOD. WOMAN, YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ON THIS. WHAHHHHHH!!!! Anyway, thanks again for everything. We love you guys and miss you tons! Re: Keaton's Baptism
