View Article  A Thankful Conclusion

It's Saturday evening, and this post concludes my "week of giving thanks." I have really enjoyed posting about what I'm thankful for each day; it has been really good for me to explicitly and habitually write these things down--to be diligent about counting my blessings.

Today I am thankful for a day full of quality time spent with Drew, rounded out by a yummy dinner of his awesome homemade pierogies...sooo good.  I am so thankful to be married to a man who is so good to me--and who keeps me laughing every day. I am a lucky woman.

Today I am thankful for lake-effect snow, which Molly and Sammy have been romping around in all day--they LOVE it!

View Article  Happy Thanksgiving

Today I am thankful for safe travels down to Kalamazoo and back. Good food with family. Playing with, and watching, all the little ones. An early Christmas celebration (nieces and nephew loved all their presents).

Happy Thanksgiving, every one.

Love,

Did you sing the title like Kip (was that his name?), Napoleon Dynamite's wimpy older brother? (Sorry for those who don't get my reference.)

Anyway, today I am thankful for technology. So, I am probably really starting to show my age here, but I've never owned (or really used...much) a Palm Pilot. I now have my own Pocket PC, provided by my new job, and holy cow, people! It rocks! How could I have lived without this for so many years?

Honestly, it is sooo helpful. All my major tasks, calendar appointments/meetings, e-mail, etc.! It automatically syncs up with my work PC or wireless at home, so I can update on my regular PC or this new pocket one, and not miss a beat. And I can get my e-mail without even hopping on my laptop. Sheesh! Convenient!

This is great. And yes, I am a dork.

But I still love technology... (did you sing it again?)

P.S. I am also still thankful for the Thai Lunch Clique... sooo good today...

Today I am thankful for a husband who:

took the morning off work to come with me to my doctor's appointment

handed me tissues while I cried during my doctor's appointment, repeatedly

said he'd be okay with twins (unprovoked!) if we were to conceive them (see more below)

I am also thankful for a doctor who:

came into work this morning, even though she was supposed to be off this week, to do my ultrasound

told Drew he "had to be nice to me" after getting poked and prodded all morning

said that it looks like I may have two follicles about ready to ovulate, and then ordered two injections of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) to be administered in each of my hips (Um, yeah...OUCH. Believe me. The other possibility is that it could be one mother of a cyst; I go in for another ultrasound next week to see if what we saw "went down," which would be a good indication that they were indeed two follicles that ovulated, not a cyst. If they're about the same size, we'll have to discuss what needs to be done to take care of the cyst.)

gave me hope that good things could happen for us over the next couple of weeks, saying "Let's all cross our fingers for twins!"
