At the gentle nudging of a friend who I had talked about doing this with, oh, last month when it seemed like a good idea... , I am giving National Blog Posting Month a try. Since it's November 1st (can you believe it???), I guess I better get started!

My first week of work at my new job has been great...I really couldn't ask for a more supportive and positive environment. I was greeted with (get this) PRESENTS! upon walking into my office my first day, and additional perks such as free Seattle's Best coffee and a gas station-y cappucino machine, have been popping up here and there as the week has progressed. I was given my first writing assignment yesterday, which I am all at once terribly excited and scared about. Don't worry--my scaredy-catness is just those typical "I'm doing something 'new'" jitters that anyone who is Type A-and-extremely-afraid-of-failure-or-more-accurate-afraid-of-anything-less-than-pretty-damn-near-perfection has. It'll be a great opportunity to get out and talk to a lot of different people and write a piece that really highlights the value of some pretty neat things. I know! I'm so VAGUE! Sorry, tough cookies to you. I am still going to be that person who not only does not explicitly name the organization I work for, but also will be terribly vague about the actual work/subject-matter (beyond it being "newsy") in order to protect the innocent, and (more importantly!) me (I kid...kinda).

Let's hope I don't run out of gas as I continue this goal of posting every. single. day. of this month...
