This web log is owned and operated by Drew and Em, a young married couple who live in west Michigan, just miles from Lake Michigan.
"Thinking Out Loud" began in September of 2004 as a way to share pictures and daily thoughts and rants of goings-on with our family members and close friends.

Co-author Drew (Andrew, Mr. Drewsy-Pants, Andy, Papa) is 28 years old and graduated from Kettering University (he still likes to think of it as GMI--General Motors Institute) with a degree in Computer Engineering. He currently works as a software engineer.
Drew enjoys buying parts for and tinkering with his motorcycles, playing video and computer games, watching movies, and spending time with his sweetie, Em.
Co-author Em (Ember, Emmie, Mama) is 28 years old and graduated from Michigan Technological University with a BA in Technical Communication and a minor in Journalism and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with an MS in Technical Communication and Human Computer Interaction. She currently works as a communications specialist and teaches business/technical writing courses as a corporate training consultant.
Em enjoys reading voraciously, writing bits and pieces that will most likely never result in the novel she'd actually like to write, snuggling, drinking tea, making cards, taking very bad pictures, spending time with her sweetie (Drew), and collecting recipes of dishes she very seldom gets around to making.
Drew and Em both like dogs immensely, especially their own, Molly and Sammy.
Molly (Mol, Mollers, Mollybidenum) is a 4-year old German Shepherd who has EPI, loves to play fetch, jumps a lot, will lick your face off if you let her, and is, interestingly enough, both the house guard dog and overly-sensitive-and-easily-prone-to-peeing-on-the-carpet one.
Sammy (Sam, Shimmy, Shimmers, Shimishaw Sammers, Miss Lazy Bones) is a 4-year old Yellow Labrador Retriever who has hip dysplasia; has been known to lay right on top of you; and loves to sleep, snore, rest her cute wittle cutie head on your lap, and be petted without end, Amen. We often think, when it comes right down to it, that she would welcome a burglar into our house with open paws and lots of kisses--because, hey!, the more the merrier!
